To qualify, the actress must have appeared in a theatrical movie. Any theatrical movie released prior to the end of the calendar year of 2009 qualifies.
Nominations close Sunday 26th February (Oscar night) at 10:00 pm US Pacific Time (same as 'Board Time', see below).
Voting is tentatively set to begin next week.
TV shows, TV movies and miniseries, direct-to-DVD movies, and online media (eg. YouTube videos) will be included in a separate upcoming vote.

So, Runboard polls have a limit of 20 poll choices, but there are more than 20 nominees in some of the categories.
I need to figure out how to do this fairly, maybe by decade, or maybe 1960-2009 and 1959-earlier.
In the meantime, the nomination period for Classic Theatrical Movies is extended until voting closes for 2010-11 Theatrical Movies.
And voting has now started for 2010-2011 Theatrical Movies. Be sure to check it out and vote for your favorite in each category. No closing date for voting has been set yet (one will soon), so spread the word and support our swashbuckling film femmes.
